Aydın Adnan Menderes University Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences held an external stakeholder meeting on 18 March 2025 with JMW, one of its industry stakeholders. JMW was established as a joint venture between Jantsa Jant Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. and the Italian company Magnetto Wheels Corp.
Representing our University, the meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Ethem Aktürk, Director of the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, and Deputy Directors Assoc. Prof. Dr. Korhan Günel and Asst. Prof. Dr. Okan Arslan. JMW was represented by Emre Benzer, M.Sc. Engineer and Design Centre Manager; Oğuzhan Mehmet Aksu, Project Development Supervisor; and Halil Ekici, General Manager of JMW.
During the meeting, the participants exchanged views on strengthening university–industry cooperation and conducting joint projects. Other important topics included intellectual and industrial property rights, the contributions of R&D and design centres, continuing education centres, and technology transfer offices.
One of the key agenda items was the provision of graduate and doctoral education in artificial intelligence and big data for company employees. JMW representatives were informed about the proposed Interdisciplinary Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science and its planned master’s programme with thesis and doctoral programme. Their views on these programmes were also obtained.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to proceed with the preparation of a mutual cooperation protocol.
