Graduate School of Social Sciences

The Institute of Social Sciences consists of the Institute Board and the Institute Administrative Board, according to the 19th article of the law numbered 2547. The Institute Board consists of the deputy directors under the chairmanship of the director and the heads of the departments that make up the institute. Institute Board of Directors consists of three faculty members to be elected for three years by the Institute Board, under the chairmanship of the director, among the six candidates who nominated by the assistant directors and the principal. A postgraduate program consists of a certain number of compulsory and elective courses with specific content and names for master's, doctorate or proficiency in art titles, as well as doctoral proficiency exam, art proficiency exam, thesis, work of art and applications. Postgraduate programs have the same names with institute department and institute of major arts. However, upon the recommendation of the rector and the decision of the Council of Higher Education, a postgraduate program with a different name from that institute's department and/or art branch can be opened in an institute department or institute art branch. In a program, it is not necessary to carry out undergraduate education in the department or major art related to that program in order to provide postgraduate education.

Aydın Adnan Menderes University was established in 1992 in accordance with the Law No. 2809 on the adoption of the Decree-Law No. 41 on the Organization of Higher Education Institutions, dated 03.07.1992 and numbered 3837, and the Law on Amending the Decree-Law No. 78 and 190. Our university's Social, Health and Science Institutes were established in the 1994-1995 academic year.
Social Sciences Institute started its activities with 54 students as Tourism Management, Business and Economics Departments. As of 2021, it continues education with 39 departments, 74 programs and 1752 students.

To educate individuals who will contribute to science at national and international level by conducting independent research in an environment that will give students the opportunity to reveal their own potential, who are rational, productive, have modern and scientific thinking, and can follow the developments in the world and who can apply their knowledge and skills to different fields, have a developed sense of social responsibility, and can evaluate and interpret scientific events with a broad perspective and will be able to bring innovations to science with their studies.

To be an institution that educates experts who are respected and preferred in the field of social sciences at national and international level, competent in their field, have scientific thinking, modern and communicative, respectful to human values, ethical values and environmental awareness, can lead the society in changing world conditions and train experts with a corporate culture and trains scientists and experts with international standards, whose graduates are accepted by academic and research circles and who can produce solutions to problems.

It is one of our main goals for students to be able to put forward scientific studies at national and international level, to follow and interpret developments in the world, to contribute to the literature on a universal scale, to increase their postgraduate thesis quality, to transfer known methods to new application areas, to have scientific ethical values, to have high social awareness, to question and to be individuals who can produce solutions.

Our Department Heads affiliated to twenty different campuses have postgraduate classrooms / lecture halls. In these classrooms / lecture halls, cinevision, tables, chairs, boards, etc. course materials are available.
