Anabilim Dalımızda Yüksek lisans ve doktora programlarında meyvecilik, bağcılık, sebzecilik ve süs bitkileri bilim dallarında eğitim verilmektedir.

Anabilim Dalımız 1994-1995 eğitim-öğretim yılında Yüksek lisans ve Doktora programı eğitimine beş öğretim üyesi ile başlamıştır. O zamandan bu yana eğitim ve öğretimine tezli yüksek lisans ve Doktora programı ile devam etmekte olan anabilim dalımızda halen dokuz öğretim üyesi katkı vermektedir.

Bahçe bitkileri temel alanında bilime ve ilgili sektörlere katkı yapabilecek nitelikte yetişmiş insan gücü potansiyelini arttırmak

Yenilikçi, yaratıcı ve bilime hizmet edebilecek insan gücü potansiyelini arttırmayı hedefleyen bir anabilim dalı olmak

Öğrencinin bilimsel araştırma yaparak bilgilere erişme, bilgiyi değerlendirme ve yorumlama yeteneğini kazanmasını sağlamaktır. Araştırma çalışması öğrenciye , bireysel beceri ve profesyonel bakış açısını tarımsal uygulamalarda etkin bir şekilde kullanabilme imkanı sağlayacaktır. Tez konuları;Sebze yetiştiriciliği ve ıslahı, meyve yetiştiriciliği ve ıslahı, bağ yetiştiriciliği ve ıslahı ile Süs bitkileri yetiştiriciliği ve ıslahı alanlarında olabilir.

Bahçe Bitkileri Anabilim dalı akademik personelin kullanımına sunulmuş olan 11 adet ofis, 2 adet fizyoloji laboratuvarı, 1 adet doku kültürü laboratuvarı, masa başı aşılama ve kaynaştırma odası ve mantar üretim odası bulunmaktadır.

Sebze bahçesi, meyve koleksiyon bahçesi, ve bağ olmak üzere 3 farklı üretim yeri bulunmaktadır. Ayrıca üretim yapıları olarak, PE örtülü olarak imal edilmiş olan meyve çoğaltma serası, sisleme serası ve süs bitkileri üretim serası bulunmaktadır.

The Philosoph of Doctorate degree

The foundation of application in this subject is organized by the law No. 27561 Government Newspaper published on April 24, 2010. The Department of Horticulture, Institute of Science, Adnan Menderes University gives graduate level education both M.Sc. and Ph.D. The Philosophy of Doctorate Degree has been awarded on four different areas, including Fruit Growing and Breeding, Vegetable Growing and Breeding, Ornamental Plants Growing and Breeding, and Grape Growing and Breeding areas at the Department of Horticulture.

Graduates who succesfully completed the degree of Philosophy of Doctorate can apply an academic position at same or similar areas in national or international higher education institutes, or a specialist position at research centers/institutions.

The Philosoph of Doctorate degree is awarded to candidate students who have been successful of their courses taken, completed their related thesis study subject, and successfully defended their thesis.

Incoming students for the Philosophy of Doctorate degree are accepted among the candidates who completed their Master's of Science degree and fulfilled the required foreign exam grade, after verbal exam in both autumn and spring semesters. The number and qualification of students matriculated are announced before the beginning of each semester. In this call, the procedure and the deadline of the application, the place and date of the oral exam of the applicants will be announced. The minimum 55 ALES standard points will be required. The qualiication of diplomas must be registered by YOK. The minimum 55 UDS foreign language points will be required. The oral exam will be graded out of 100 points. The scientific success grade which needs to be minimum 70, will be calculated by summing up 50% of ALES, plus 20% of Master's of Science transcript, and plus 30% of oral exam.

The successful students, who have completed at least one semester in a doctorate programme belongs to an equal or similar institute of a higher education institute, can be accepted to the doctorate programme through horizontal transfer. Whether the courses taken from the previous institute will be transferred for credits to the new institution is decided by the approval of the Managing Council of the Institute proposed by the Major Advisor and related Chair of the Department.

The programme consists of eight courses which have at least total of 24 credit hours, two seminars, and a thesis study. Besides mid-tem and final exams, there are reports, homeworks, quizes can be used to evaluate the performance of students. The passing grade is at least 75 out of 100 for each course. Students can attend the same failed course, or to take another course approved by her/his advisor. Besides courses, proposed by the Chair of the Deartment and approved by the Manageing Council of the Institute, can be selected from other higher education institutions.
