Temel Onkoloji ve Kanser biyolojisi Yüksek Lisans Programının temel amacı uluslararası ölçütlere göre kabul görmüş bilimsel içerikte bilgi ve laboratuar becerisiyle donatılmış bilim insanı yetiştirmektir. Bu eğitim çerçevesinde temel bilgilerini klinik olaylara sağlam bir yapısal ve moleküler temel üzerinde daha geniş bir perspektifte bakabilen, kanser ve kök hücre incelemelerinde uygulanan laboratuar tekniklerini uygulayabilen, bilgiye ulaşabilen, problemi belirleyip hipotezler üretebilen, deney sürecini düzenleyebilen ve elde ettiği verileri değerlendirip sunabilen kişiler yetiştirmek amaçlanmıştır.

Temel Onkoloji ve Kanser Biyolojisi insanlarda değişik tip ve evrelerde görülen kanserlerdeki farklı hücre tiplerinin mikroskobik ve moleküler yapılarını ve yapıyla bağlantılı işlevlerini; moleküler, genetik ve histopatolojik düzeyde incelemektedir. Kanser bilimi özellikle insan organizmasının erken gelişimi için çok önemli olan kök hücrelerin tespiti ve bununla ilişkili laboratuvar tekniklerinin uygulandığı, bazı hastalıkların ve kanser türlerinin tedavisinde önemli yeri olan klinik uygulamaya yönelik bir alandır.

Temel Onkoloji ve Kanser Biyolojisi Yüksek Lisans Programı, Temel ve Klinik bilimler alanındaki programlara önemli bir katkı sağlamaktadır. Başta Tıp Fakültesi Hematoloji ve Onkoloji klinikleri ile birlikte, genetik, biyoloji ve diğer temel bilimler programları ve klinik bilimler ile ortak çalışmalar hız kazanmakta ve yeni projeler geliştirilmektedir.

Yüksek lisans programının sağlıklı bir biçimde yürütülebilmesi için mevcut klinik imkânlara (yaklaşık 1144 m2) ek olarak sınıf, laboratuar v.b. bulunmaktadır.

Öğrencilerin projelerini ve tezlerini yürütebileceği Tıbbi Genetik/Histoloji ve Embriyoloji laboratuvarlarında her türlü imkan mevcuttur. Öğrenciler Hücre Kültürü Lab, Genetik Lab, Hematoloji Lab, Flow Sitometri Lab. ve ADÜ Merkezi Araştırma Laboratuvarlarında çalışma yapabilmektedirler. Ayrıca Tıp Fakültesi, ADÜ Uygulama ve Araştırma Hastanesi ve ADÜ Merkez Kütüphanesinin imkanlarından faydalanabilmektedirler.

Aydın Adnan Menderes University Department of Basic Oncology Basic Oncology and Cancer Biology Master's Program was established in 2016 with the approval of YÖK. Since 2018 has been graduating. Medical Doctor, Genetics and Molecular Genetics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Pharmacy, Veterinarians, Dentists and Bioengineering graduates have the opportunity to graduate in Basic Oncology. It is a department that provides education, research and laboratory services from a translational perspective. In our department, there are faculty members of the basic sciences (Pathology, Histology and Embryology) and clinical branches (Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Pediatric Oncology, Preventive Oncology, Hematology) of the Institute of Oncology and Faculty of Medicine. The duration of the program is 2 years including 1 year of course and 1 year of thesis. The language of the program is Turkish.

Provisions of the relevant articles of the Adnan Menderes University Institute of Health Sciences Education and Examination Directive are applied for the changes and transitions between programs.

Upon successful completion of the program, all graduates receive the "Master of Science in Basic Oncology and Cancer Biology" degree.

For registration and admission, the provisions of the relevant articles of the Aydın Adnan Menderes University Institute of Health Sciences Education and Examination Directive are applied. Students are admitted to the graduate program by interview. The number of students to be admitted to graduate programs and the qualifications to be sought for the candidate students are announced before the beginning of each semester. In this announcement, the application conditions and deadline, the place and date of the interview are indicated. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree and have a minimum score of 55 standard from the ALES centrally administered by the Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM), or an equivalent of 55 ALES from the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). score. The equivalence of undergraduate diplomas obtained from abroad must be approved by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Candidates; They fill in the ALES documents, undergraduate diplomas, the grades they have taken from the courses they have studied at the undergraduate level, the approved documents indicating their graduation grade point averages, and other relevant information until the deadline stated in the announcement, and apply to the institute directorate together with the candidate number provided on the internet. The registration process of the candidates is arranged and executed by the relevant institute directorate. Candidates are taken to the interview exam by the candidate evaluation jury. Interview grade is given over 100 full grades. Grade of scientific achievement of a candidate; 50% of ALES score, 25% of undergraduate grade point average and 25% of interview grade. Candidates must have at least 50 points for interview and 60 points for scientific achievement.

Horizontal transfers can be made at the beginning of each semester in the registration period provided that the quota is determined by the departments and approved by the Board of Directors of the Institute. The provisions of the relevant articles of the Adnan Menderes University Institute of Health Sciences Education and Examination Directive are applied during the horizontal / vertical transfers to the faculty.

In order to obtain a Master's degree, a graduate student must have at least 120 ECTS credits covering 7 (seven) courses and 1 (one) seminar course with a minimum of 21 (twenty-one) national credits during the education period. you must complete it with success. The courses that graduate students will take from the joint elective courses of the institute cannot be included in the graduate credit and GPA.
